Description

PRINT PRODUCTION is a workshop course oriented towards both print and digital media that introduces students to the fundamental processes of organizing, designing, and preparing verbal and non-verbal information for dissemination to a reading audience.

Objectives

Upon completion of the course, the student is expected to:

  1. outline and describe the process of producing a publication for the print medium;
  2. produce cameraready materials using desktop publishing technology;
  3. identify fundamental contrasts between presenting information in print and digital media, and reconfigure the print production process in the context of the WWW;
  4. organize and design information for dissemination on the WWW; and
  5. produce a web site incorporating text and graphics using HTML and image processing technology.
